How to Upload Pictures for
Myspace
To upload pictures for Myspace is a simple procedure and can
really make your page stand out from the crowd. Though it can
seem confusing when you first try, it’s actually simple to do
once you get the hang of it.
Once you’ve signed up on the site and have set up your
Myspace profile, follow these easy steps to add photos to your
profile.
1: First, go to www.myspace.com and log on to
your Myspace account. After successfully logging on, you should
see the Myspace "welcome" screen.
2: You will see a gray area where your profile picture
should be, and just to the right of this area, a text link to
"Add/Edit Photos." It will be the third option on the list, and
clicking this link will take you to the “upload your photo”
page.
3: Once you’re on the “upload your photo” page, you should
see the "Upload Photo" form. Look for the button marked
"browse" all the way to the right-hand side at the bottom.
Click the "browse" button, and this will bring up a menu asking
you to "choose file.”
4: In the pop-up "choose file" menu, locate the folder where
your photo is located. If you need to change file folders,
click the down-pointing arrow on the top of the "choose file"
menu. Now just select the folder where your photo is located.
If you are unsure, check the "My Pictures" folder first. It is
located under "My Documents,” which can be found from the
“start menu.”
Once you have located the photo, just select it with the
cursor, and click “open" on the right side of the “choose file"
menu.
6: Now, from the "Upload Form" back on Myspace, just click
the "Upload" button to begin uploading your picture. It is
important to remember that your image must be less than 600kb
to be uploaded. If the photo is bigger than 600kb, you will get
an immediate error message telling you your file size is too
big, and you will have to start the process all over again.
If this should happen, don’t worry. You can easily “size
down” the photo with any one of several free photo editors you
can find online. Picasa by Google is one easy alternative,
because it will re-size photos automatically for “web
distribution” with a single mouse-click—very handy!
Assuming your photo was not over the 600 kb limit, it will
now be uploaded on the site and available in your profile. Is
the photo uploaded correctly, you should see a message in red
text that says "Thank you for uploading your image."
7. Once uploaded, you can add a caption or “tag” to your
picture describing what it is, or the date it was taken, or any
other remarks you like. You can also set one of your uploaded
pics as the "default” photo for your profile. Your "default"
photo will appear on your welcome screen after you login, and
will be the pic that is included in your “friends'” list.
And that’s all there is to it. Now you know how to upload
pictures for Myspace.
