Stop Being Boring! Upload a Picture to
Your MySpace!
Upload a picture to your MySpace page and start customizing
it to reflect your true personality. These days pretty
much the entire world is on MySpace, and why not?
MySpace is a great way to stay connected with old friends --
and make new ones! It's easy to get in touch with lots of
like-minded people, or check out new bands, or even post your
own art, pictures or music online, showing the world who you
really are. But first you're going to need to get started
and that means adding some spice to that boring standard
MySpace page.
Ideally, you should upload a profile picture for your page
as soon as possible after joining up. If someone does
check your site and recognizes your name but doesn't see a
photo, they may be unsure that it's "really you." After
all, there are many people in the world with the same name.
What kind of pictures should you use? A close-up is
usually best, but of course you're trying to show your true
personality here, so select a photo that you think best
represents who you are.
To upload a profile picture you must already have the
picture located on your computer as a digital image file.
If you have forgotten where the picture is located on your
computer, always check the "my pictures" folder first, as that
is the default location for most types of image files on a
Windows PC.
Before we go any further, a word of caution: before you put
up a profile picture on your MySpace page, remember that
MySpace is an open social networking web site, and accordingly,
millions of people will be able to view your picture and
personal information. Women especially should be careful
about posting photos with full body or bikini shots.
Remember, there are a lot of great people on MySpace, but there
are also stalkers and troublemakers. Use your common
sense before uploading any personal photo to MySpace or any
other web site.
If you have a sense of humor and like to share it with the
world, you can also do some funny editing on your profile
picture; maybe add a fake mustache or an Afro hairdo.
It's entirely up to you -- just expressed who you are and what
is funny to you.
Once your profile picture is uploaded, there are many other
options for customizing your page. For example you can
add a background picture to your MySpace page. This can
seem complicated at first, but there are a few very helpful web
sites that will assist you in doing this. Try
mywackospace.com for example.
But once you upload a background picture, be sure to change
it at least every month or so. It gets really boring when
people use the same background photo or image on their page
forever! Remember to periodically shake things up on your
MySpace page to keep your friends on their toes.
MySpace is a great tool for staying connected with friends
and making new ones. Just remember to keep it
interesting, and always keep it real. Now get out there
and upload a picture to your MySpace page and began putting
some personality into it!
