Upload Photo Tips
Upload photo techniques are not so
difficult. It’s all a matter of a few mouse clicks and picture
selections. There is no real trick to upload pictures and many
sites have made it as easy as pie to make sure that you can
store all your digital photos online. Some sites even allow you
to do things with the collections that you upload, such as
viewing them in slideshow and some allow resizing or ordering
of prints. But as easy as it is to upload photographs, there
are a few things to keep in mind when you want your pictures
online and viewable by others.
Make Sure It’s Digital
Since you are going to upload a photo onto the internet, you
have to make sure that your photo is digital. If you have some
pictures that have been printed out and you don’t have any
digital copies of them, what you can do is have them scanned on
a computer scanner and then transfer that scan to a computer
through a program such as Photoshop. Here you can manipulate
the photo digitally until you are satisfied with the quality.
Then you can save it into a format that is fit for web
viewing.
Make Sure The Format Is Universal
There are different formats of pictures that can be uploaded
to the internet. One upload photo tip is to make sure that your
pictures are in one of the many accepted formats that makes it
readable on all sorts of browsers. The most common formats are
JPEG and GIF, but others like TIFF and PNG are also acceptable.
These formats make it easier for any kind of web browser (be it
Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, or Opera) to display your
pictures. These are also some of the formats that will only be
accepted at some upload sites. So before uploading, make sure
that you have the right format picture files.
Make Sure They Are Not Too Big
Free photo upload sites let you upload your pictures but
some of them have limits. For example, some sites will only
allow you to upload a picture that is 5MB at a time. If your
picture is any bigger than the stated limit, you might not be
able to upload it. Also, you have to consider the overall
limit. There are some sites that are free but only up to
storage limit of 1 gigabyte. Now, this is a large space but if
you need more space, you will need to pay for it. So, the
smaller picture sizes that you have, the bigger space you have
for the storage of your photos. Another reason to keep your
pictures small (by file size) is so that you can upload them
quicker because they are "lighter" and also so that they
quickly load on the screen when you access them. Heavy pictures
tend to bog down the servers sometimes and it can be
frustrating to access them.
Make Sure They Are Decent
If there is anything that the internet respects, it is the
way that content is handled on public access sites. Many upload
sites will not allow you to upload graphic material or pictures
that are offensive. Make sure that you are not uploading these
kinds of pictures because they will not only be accepted. Your
account may also be terminated and you will have to open a new
account. Avoid the possibility of being banned from sites on
the internet by making sure that the picture content that you
are uploading is decent no matter who views them.
These are a few upload photo tips that you
can use the next time you are online. Follow them well and you
should have no problem with your upload activities and
collection sharing.
