Upload Pictures the Easy Way

It is a common saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. But it is worth nothing if it is just lying on your hard drive and nobody has ever laid his/her eyes on it. And there is no better way of showing off your pictures to thousand of people than uploading your pictures to the Internet.

So, how do you go about doing that? It is not as complicated as it may seem at first. The first thing you have to do is to go and look for web space to host your pictures on. There are a number of both free and paid ones online. Yahoo! Photos, for example, allows you to upload your pictures to a space that they will provide for you.

But there are a number of steps you have to take to make uploading your images a breeze.

First, you have to choose an image hosting service online, whether it is paid or free. Alternatively, you can set up a little website of your own and upload a picture gallery template as the basis for your website. You can host a simple website nowadays for as low as $3 a month, with sufficient amount of web space and bandwidth for your personal use. Whatever you decide to go with depends on you and how big your need is.

Next, you have to log in to your picture hosting account or your website (if you decide to build one) and created folders that represent different categories, occasions and themes of your pictures. For example, you could have a folder titled "Marriage", "Graduation" "Friends", etc. Use your imagination and creativity to organize them into folders and subfolders as you deem fit.

Now is the time for the real thing. You now log into your picture hosting provider account and look for any button or link that says "Upload Pictures" or something similar that implies getting your pictures published on the web. Clicking on such a button will take you to the files on your computer. Select the location and folder containing the pictures you want to upload. Select any of the pictures to upload it. Do the same thing until you must have filled up all the upload boxes that are available to you. Click on the button that implies that you will be publishing your pictures n the web.

Beware! It is a common mistake to have selected the pictures you want to upload and then forget to click the "Upload" to put it on the web.
