Uploading Pictures for MySpace

As you may know, MySpace is a forum for anyone who wishes to speak with friends, make new friends online, share stories, keep in touch with family members, and basically network. In addition, most of the myspace members upload pictures in their online profile. Uploading pictures for myspace is relatively easy. Here is what you need to know.

First and foremost, if you aren’t a member of MySpace, you can log on and immediately create a profile. The profile will consist of a description, your hobbies and interests, and your pictures.

As mentioned at the outset, uploading pictures for MySpace is easy. The only requirement is that you know HTML or CSS. These are the languages used to create web pages on the internet. In order to upload your pictures, go to "edit profile," and choose the format you wish to use (either HTML or CSS).

What is HTML? This stands for hyper text markup language which contains specific tags which are used to upload pictures on the internet or website. CSS, on the other hand, stands for cascading style sheets which also defines how to display the HTML tags you’ve created.

Here is an example of how you would upload a picture to a website in general or MySpace, in particular. Once you join MySpace, you are given a code which you need to put on your website so that your picture will appear. The HTML code would look like this:

Now click on the MothersDay code and see what happens!

In order to write HTML, you can use FrontPage, Claris Home Page, Adobe PageMill, or Dreamweaver. MySpace has a full tutorial which you can use to learn how to write HMTL and use CSS correctly and effectively when uploading pictures for MySpace.

There are also many online tutorials which will teach you how to write HTML. Here is a tip, if you want to check out how images are displayed in HTML text, simply click on a website and right click on view source. If you know the basics, you will be able to spot the IMG SRC codes for images right away.
